With Love, Wolfie: Letters from Mozart

Sunday, April 26, 2026
Desautels Concert Hall, 150 Dafoe Road. University of Manitoba Fort Garry Campus

In partnership with the Winnipeg Singers; guest artists from the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra; featuring Laura Kolisnyk as Mozart’s older sister, ‘Nannerl’ and soloist Ellen Wieser.

Step into Mozart’s world as his letters come to life through dramatic readings by “Nannerl”, Wolfie’s sister, in this joint performance of The Phil, the Winnipeg Singers and musicians of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. Discover the man behind the music, his creative process, humour and humanity as Winnipeg-born performer Laura Kolisnyk plays the role of Nannerl. Mozart’s letters and melodies intertwine, revealing the genius, wit and emotion of this timeless composer as 2026 marks the 270th anniversary of his birth (1756) and 235th anniversary of his death (1791).

Choral Perfection

There are few places classical choral music lovers can gather to hear high-quality traditional music on a grand scale. Deeply rooted in the choral community, The Phil is Winnipeg’s leading classical choir, providing audiences with an experience that’s dramatic, profoundly moving, and full of heart. The Phil has commissioned works by composers from both Manitoba and across Canada.

Let’s meet up in real life to share the beauty of great choral works.

A choral trademark for the City of Winnipeg, the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir’s repertoire includes a broad range of music such as oratorios (such as Sir Paul McCartney’s Ecce Cor Meum), masses, songs, and choral symphonies with a focus on major choral works with orchestral accompaniment.

Ready to take the next step and sing with us?

Have you always wanted to experience the thrill of singing major choral works with the WSO and internationally-renowned artists? The Phil is always looking for qualified singers to join us in making beautiful music together. Auditions are on September 7, 2025 and again in early January of 2026.
