Many ways to support the Phil.
One way is by participating in one of our annual fundraisers! These fundraisers help offset costs associated with bringing high-quality traditional choral music.
The Phil runs three fundraisers a year:
Poinsettia Plant Sale
Grocery Gift Card Sale
Spring Plant Sale
Poinsettia Plant Sale – Fall (yearly November/December)
The Phil has sold premium poinsettia plants from Vanderveen's Nursery for many years. Both small (6-inch pots) and large (10-inch pots) are available for purchase. Plant varieties for small come in red, white, and pink with the large pot variety coming in red, white, or tri-colored.
We can arrange delivery within the city of Winnipeg for a fee.
The Poinsettia Sale for 2023 is now closed. Details for the 2024 Poinsettia Sale will be posted when it opens in Fall 2024.
Grocery Gift Card Sale – Fall, Winter & Spring (yearly)
You already buy groceries – all you have to do is change the way you pay for them! The Phil runs an annual Grocery Gift Card Sale for use at Sobeys/Safeway/Freshco and IGA.
Gift cards may be purchased in amounts ranging from $5 to $500.
The grocery card fundraiser is held twice a year - in November/December and March/April.
Details for the Grocery Gift Card Sale will be posted when it opens in Fall 2024.
Plant Sale – Spring (yearly)
We partner yearly with Glenlea Greenhouses for our Spring Plant Sale. Glenlea Greenhouses offers top-quality plants at competitive prices, with fundraising selections including annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs. For the balcony or window box gardener, they offer beautiful hanging baskets and mixed containers, or you can create your own from a gorgeous selection of container plants. Opulent pots of fall chrysanthemums can be ordered at the same time for delivery after Labour Day. If you are interested in plants that aren’t among the fundraising options, consider ordering plant cards; these can be used to shop in person at the retail location just south of Winnipeg or at the Glenlea booth at local farmers’ markets (see Glenlea website).
Please share the link (www.glenleagreenhouses.com) with friends, family, neighbours and colleagues. Depending on how much we sell, The Phil can expect to receive 20-25% (before tax) of the value of all plant sales and 15% ($3.75 each) on gift cards. The plants are always of terrific quality, and you’ll be supporting a local, family-run business as well as the Phil.
