The work of the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir couldn’t happen without committed volunteers.

We’re always looking for more volunteers to add to our roster!

If you’re looking for a great way to support choral music in Winnipeg, here are some opportunities we have available at the moment:

Concert Volunteers

Join us for a single concert by helping out as a greeter, handing out programs, or assisting at our ticket desk. Enjoy the music of the Phil as an added bonus!

Board Members

The Phil is led by a volunteer Board of Directors. Board members are confirmed at the Phil’s fall Annual General Meeting in mid-October of each year, and commit to a minimum one-year term. Board members are required to attend monthly meetings, and it is expected that all members would be active as a director, committee chair, or committee member, or a member-at-large. Presently, we are seeking a new Vice-President and a Secretary which are opportunities to provide you an excellent “arts organization leadership mentorship”.

Committee Members

There are a number of committees of the Phil’s Board, all of which require committed volunteers to function effectively. Check out the Committee descriptions below…are there any of these committees that spark your interest?

Internal Operations – This is where the magic happens behind the scenes of our concerts. Internal ops committee members deal with concert dress, staging, performance, and rehearsal protocols … generally ensuring that everything runs smoothly for each of our concerts.

Fundraising – What would a non-profit organization be without fundraising? The Phil generally has a handful of traditional fundraising events each year, and this committee makes all of that happen. However, in future years we could use volunteer skill sets and time to support seeking new sponsorships and grant applications, as well as a chair to lead and keep us all organized. Other fundraising priorities could include direct mail outreach to our community for individual donations, as well as doing work on plans for the endowment fund and planned giving.

Marketing – These are the worker-bees behind the public face of the Phil, working on all aspects of our marketing – website, social media, posters … ensuring we have both choristers to sing, and patrons to fill the seats of our concerts.

Program – This group of creatives ensures we have fabulous programming to sing for each of our concerts. No detail is too small for this group in their planning.

Volunteer with the Phil

There’s lots of ways to help.

We’d love to have a conversation with you about joining the ranks of the Phil volunteers.
